By the people. For the people.
Is that still realistic?
Politics was once a participatory process, but today's political discussion has become a ping-pong match between politicians, cable networks and bloggers using the media to forward their own biased opinion. Matter of Opinion (MOO) is a new kind of social media project focused on increasing participation in the debates and issues that will impact the 2012 Presidential Campaign.
We ask questions that are politically charged, post them on Facebook and Twitter, and ask that people participate. Then we send the results and remarks to the politicians, policy makers, business leaders and the media.
We are inherently nonpartisan. But we're not opposed to being real, honest and controversial. Our goal is simple...help make your opinion matter. MOO with us on facebook
Americans are losing
We aim to change that.
We are students of statistics and we've seen the numbers that show Americans (of all ages) are becoming increasingly less involved in the political process, in voting, and in participation. But we're also social optimists and believe that people want to get involved if they feel that their opinion could make a difference.
Our mission is simple: Create a platform where people share opinions, debate, argue, persuade, and inform...so that the 2012 Presidential Election becomes the most representative and informed in our history. MOO with us on facebook
Your opinions get shipped.
We call it the MOO Box.
The MOO Box is a collection of your comments and remarks physically boxed up and delivered to those people who are at the center of the debate. These include presidents, policy makers, politicians, media pundits, and business leaders...no one is off limits. The MOO box becomes a vehicle to help them understand what the rest of us think.
Our goal is that they read it, think about it, and allow it to influence their opinion. It's the perfect "by the people, for the people" concept. MOO with us on facebook
